Kirk Reese & Andy Roberts – Jazz Piano

This performance, in the spirit of the 29th annual Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest, features these great artists, with an opening performance by the Berks Piano Quartet (Yocum Institute Students!).
It’s on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 7 p.m. in the Gallery at Yocum Institute.
Kirk Reese, keyboardist, has been an active part of the jazz scene in Pennsylvania for thirty years. He has performed with numerous notable jazz artists including alto saxophonist Phil Woods, Lou Marini, trumpeter Marvin Stamm, Russian trumpeter Valery Ponomarev, Tim Warfield Jr, Ralph Moore, Billy Higgins, “Blue Lou” Marini and jazz violinist John Blake. Reese has been on the music faculty at Messiah College since 1993, teaching jazz improvisation & piano.
Andy Roberts, keyboardist, arrived at his approach to music and composition thru the absorption of musical styles from various eras. His influences range from jazz greats Fats Waller, Bud Powell, and Chick Corea to rockers like Professor Longhair and Rick Wakeman. He incorporates all of these music genres into his own compositions and improvisations. Currently, Andy maintains a busy schedule of music directing, performing, and writing within many formats of the music world. He freelances around Central Pa and Philadelphia.
